Jacob “Hella Sketchy” Thureson

Jacob “Hella Sketchy” Thureson was a hip hop artist and producer who was one of the pioneers of the Happy Trap genre. Coming out of the Soundcloud scene, rose through the ranks to get signed to APG/Atlantic at the age of 17. He was empathetic, HSP, and clinically diagnosed with depression and anxiety. After trying numerous treatments and medications that didn’t work, he turned to self medicating seeking a solution to feeling better. Sadly, less than a year after signing, he passed June 27, 2019 at 5:11am at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, exactly two weeks after being admitted. He gave us notice he was leaving, Two Week’s Notice.
Jacob was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up in a healthy, spiritual household. He was labeled “Gifted” at age 6, taught himself to program at age 10, was proficient in guitar and producing by 13, sold his first beat online at 14, and got signed to APG/Atlantic Records at 17 years old.
Jacob is survived by his Mom and Dad, two sisters, and loyal fans – Cupid Soldiers.
